No profiles set up. Set to AFs, iso400. What settings should I check? I’m not very camera savvy!

Try these settings. S shutter priority,  ISO 1600. Shoot a light coloured object and adjust the shutter speed wheel through a wide range. I shot a light cushion indoors, lit by direct sunlight. Examine the settings while altering S wheel, and you should see a speed selected faster than 1/400th second. If not, you might have a faulty camera.

If you have the manual (you can get it directly from Leica), read about setting user profiles. By usiñg them, you can save time, in many situations. (Look at my website, link below, and review my news items. You might find several articles of interest, which will help you with your CL)

Check if you have the latest firmware released by Leica for the CL camera.

Something similar happened to me with the Leica TL2, testing the functions that are in the menu, I gave RESTORE leaving everything as when it left the factory, including the firmware, it stayed at 0.8 and the last one is 1.5.
I had to reinstall the latest firmware and I did it with the newly charged battery and it wouldn't let me because the battery was not the original one, I changed the battery for the original Leica one and everything was perfect.

These from Leica are the milk.

Try this and see if it can help you.
