John in Japan Posted September 20, 2007 Share #1  Posted September 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Took this yesterday while working on Ie Shima island. Ie Shima island is mainly notorious for being the location where the famous WW2 journalist Ernie Pyle was killed.  This lighthouse was destroyed in 1945 and during the invasion of Ie Shima 8 people lost their lives. It was rebuilt in 1954 and is still functional.  John

stuny Posted September 20, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted September 20, 2007 John - Â Beautiful composition with just enough detail on the lighthouse, and exquisit fro its sky and dark grass framing. Evern since I was a small child I associated rays like this with spirituality.
martinop Posted September 21, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted September 21, 2007 Like the shot angle and the semi-sihlouetted lighthouse. The sky lighting / rays and clouds are very appealing and add significant impact to the overall composition.
