Gerard Posted September 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi folks, Just got my Digilux 2 back from MK after sensor replacement. Haven't had much time to use it yet due to being stacked out at work. However, playing around last night I notice that it was emitting a strange buzzing and clicking noise - not very loud, but certainly wasn't there before repair. Reminds me of a phone I had once that had bad a bad circuit board. Pics are great, though. Any ideas before I get in touch with Leica service? I'm kind of disconcerted. cow_penalty Posted March 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2009 DId you ever find the cause of this? Mine is a week-old refurb from Leica and has been making a strange buzzing/clicking noise upon startup and shut down. Not very loud, but noticable. brucek Posted March 13, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 13, 2009 My D2 has always made such noises and continues to work fine. I believe the buzzing is from an internal power supply, and the clicking I believe is from the aperture control system.
jaapv Posted March 13, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2009 Well, this describes the sounds my D2 makes exactly. Plus a very high whine on the edge of audilbility during exposure ( The M8 does that as well)
cow_penalty Posted March 13, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2009 Phew, thanks for the reassurances guys. I guess in my excitement, I never noticed the noises for the first couple of days. Good to know it is merely the sound of fine German engineering!
