Nothing wrong with the approach of multiple bodies for multiple lenses. If it works, why not.

I carry a max of two bodies - generally the Q2 + another body like the M11 + 50MM or Q2 + X1DII with the XCD 65 or XCD 90. For mountain hikes, I will carry only one. For travelling by car, multiple bodies and lenses become an issue - if the extras can be left safely in the lodge/hotel, then fine. Else it is always iffy leaving gear in the car while out on hikes, no matter how short.

Well I don't mean to carry them all at once - my point is more to achieve a benefit through the unique combo of certain lens and certain body. I'm not comparing lenses using the same body.

I'm looking at your site Charles and like your work a lot. What's your current favorite setup?

cheers

Thanks! It depends - usually an M10-R  (or M10M) with a 28 'cron, but lately been shooting mostly landscapes and misc in the neighborhood, so M10-R with a 90mm Elmarit-M or 135mm APO (which is currently in for repair). If I go shoot for commercial reasons, then it can be everything from the 18mm to 135mm, but usually a 28,50,90 will suffice to cover most everything. Haven't shot film in decades, though do have a nice M3 that I love to look at! The website is a bit dated, but if you go my IG you can see some more recent work, all with M10's (or Pixel 3XL phone). https://www.instagram.com/charles.peterson.photographer/

Current setup is attached - as you can see I am a Nocti kind of person.

I use a Canon 50mm f/0.95 with M mount on these too, beautiful rendering albeit not a Leica so not included.

In terms of bodies I am quite happy with this set up as I am not a fan of M5 or M7 on the film side but will prob get M2,3,1 for collecting purposes too. On the digital side the M11 ticks all boxes for me.

There is two more Nocti I am looking to get if I find in good condition - another F1 e58 and the original f1.2 when the everything bubble slows down a bit.

Quite a fan of always having a lens on a body as it somehow feels like the cameras have more life vs the lenses and bodies just sitting separately or in boxes.

Obviously I use all of these in every possible combination and swap around the lenes depending on need
