two monarch butterflies have taken to our garden & surprised me with their tenacious defense of their turf, chasing off a pale sulfur and swallowtail ...they even engaged some hummingbirds, though these feisty little birds did not give quarter

here are two photographs I got using my M8/Viso/bellows rig with the venerable 135 Tele Elmar mounted

I was on the isle of Shoals this weekend and photographing. It was LITTERED with Mondarchs. I did not have the proper equipment to photograph them (see two of my pics in landscape and nature) but I spent alot of time just sitting back and watching them. there were dozens, if not more. It was fabulous. I love the pictures.
