PeterBoyadjian Posted September 1, 2022 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yesterday my focus ring felt loose, Happen to take it apart just a little and noticed a ring had snapped. Wondering if this has happened to anyone else, taking it to Leica would be my only option I'm guessing. Welcome, dear visitor! Herr Barnack Posted September 1, 2022 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2022 This is the first incident of this type I have seen. Others may have encountered it, though. If the lens is still under warranty, let Leica fix it. Hopefully you will get it back in a reasonable amount of time; turnaround times at Leica NJ have improved of late, or so I have read. If it is not under warranty, contact Sherry Krauter, Don Goldberg or Youxin Yee (google them) for information on repair cost and turnaround times. egrossman Posted September 1, 2022 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2022 It looks from the photo that the screw fell out from the side of the barrel and this is the reason for the separation. Impossible to know from one photograph. Erik

Looks like the part that broke is a complex machined part. I doubt that Leica will provide that part to an independent tech, from what they report lately. So Leica is probably your only source.
