I put this on my site because I am not familiar enough with posting pictures here. Anyway, someone asked about the performance of the VC 25/4 coded and non coded. here is a link to a quick and dirty test. The shots are of my ceiling which is not evenly lit and my blue walls cast a color on the left side of the picture. In spite of all this you can see the difference the lens recognition makes with this lens. I think you get the best idea from looking at the right side of the frame.

I coded mine as a 24/2.8, If anyone has coded this lens differently I would appreciate a post similar (or better) post.

It's this link right here, sorry it just shows up that way. I'm not selling anything.

Thanks

Hope this is helpful

I appreciate the coding advice. I filled in the screw head (Prior to this post) with the "Brilliant Silver" car touch up paint for my benz, but the M8 STILL will not recognize the 25mm lens. I will now try white paint based on your advice, I hope it works!

You know you're on a Leica forum when...

Couldn't resist.

If you click on the photos a larger version pops up.

Thanks David

It does seem that getting the bayonet mount of the CV 25/4 coded by John Milich is the way to go.

Must see about finding the cash to get one from Robert White - the last time I 'earmarked' funds for one the money had to be diverted for a new brake servo for my Fabia TDi... At least the brakes now only work when *I* want them to - having them come on by themselves whilst negotiating some of narrow/winding roads around here was very disconcerting...

Just a tip - I noticed green concentric banding in your testshots. That usually indicates that you do the DNG conversion in 8 bits, C1 16 bits will eliminate the problem.

Thanks for the tip, I always used ACR for the Rd-1, so C1 is still new to me. I didn't realize you could set the TIFFs to 16 bits.
