Wide open @ MFD on the M11M. Definitely more gentle than the APO 50.

Gentle as in sharpness or fall-off/bokeh?

Both, I'd say. Smoother sharpness (if that makes sense) and more progressive oof fall-off. But that's just my subjective impression after owning one for a few weeks and using it only intermittently. I prefer vintage glass and never really gelled with the 50 APO, although it's objectively an amazing lens.

I tend to pair my 35 APO with my 40 Summilux ASPH.

Thanks for responding. Mind me asking if you don’t enjoy the 50mm APO what made you go for the 35mm APO?

The same reasons that made me replace the 'standard' 50 APO with the BC version a few years ago: curiosity (aka GAS😉) and opportunity (I got a great price for a LNIB copy that someone needed to sell quickly).

Yes curiosity of a big one for sure. Sometimes you have to scratch that itch. Enjoy it and looking forward to seeing more photos.

Again wide open on the M11M. It even shows the light reflected by floating dust particles.

I had the absolute pleasure of using a friends copy on my M10 in the evening on the way back to my hotel and 30 minutes in the morning.

Not long at all, but enough to say describe the lens in my M10’in a single word. Superlative.

End of the night lights:
