I purchased the Summilux 35mm ASPH FLE almost a year ago and have been always using it with the hood attached, the one that came with the lens. The hood has its own cap.

Today I decided to take the hood off trying to free up more room in a camera bag for other accessories and I just realized that I don't have a lens cap for this lens. The only cap I have is the one that came with the hood. I never save any boxes or manuals for my gear (never sell anything) and now I'm scratching my head.

I purchased it new from a dealer. Did this lens come with a lens cap from the factory? Should I continue to search around the house?

Thanks.

In the bottom of the leather pouch, hidden under a felt patch, there should be a lens cap and a thread protection ring, that you can put on when the hood is off.

Oh my god! I am so glad I asked. They have been in front of my nose this entire time! πŸ™‚ @npsjr your response also made my day, because that's the style of a cap that I've been loving on my Summarit 50mm. Ordering!
