Hi everyone

I bought a classic Leica M6 from a flee market. Price was very cheap but the camera have one problem. B-mode is not working. When i press the release button, the curtains immediately close. I don’t see this problem in any websites. Does anyone have experience about this problem. Is it easy to fix.

I come from Japan.
thank you.

I'm assuming you mean that when you press the release button the curtains open and then immediately close. To eliminate anything really simple are you keeping your finger on the release button? B only works if you keep pressure on the release button.

I had the same problem with a M2. The B was working fine till I sent it for service, when it returned the B setting did the same thing your M6 is exhibiting, push the shutter release and the curtains close immediately. A local technician found the shutter release actuator had been bent and the camera had not been lubricated. This alleviated the problem for most of the time but it still happened occasionally. Finally, I sent it to Don Goldberg. He lubricated it properly and the problem never returned. Most likely your M6 needs service.
