Thought that this was a bit of a strange warning. One reason that I found it to be so odd is that it was photographed in the city's Financial District(!) and not in one of the more down-at-heel quarters. In 37 years of living in London I've never seen anything like it before!

The Spire and remains of the north wall of Sir Christopher Wren's 'Christ's Church; Greyfriars', London from the archway next door.

Interesting ruin. It lies just a few hundred meters to the north of Wren's most famous edifice. The previous church which sat on this site was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666 and this one was destroyed by incendiary bombs in 1940. For anyone interested in the history here's a link to the wiki entry;

Further snaps from my wanderings around the district where is found St. Paul's Cathedral. Both taken on M-D Typ-262, 28mm Elmarit asph.

Looking out on to Carter Lane from Wardrobe Place. Carter Lane is to be found just one street to the south of the Cathedral;

Wardrobe Place might seem a strange title for a thoroughfare but, of course, there is always a rational explanation for things;

"Wardrobe Place was so named as up until the Great Fire of 1666, it was the site of the King’s Wardrobe (the storage, administration and expenditure office for the King). The Wardrobe was moved here from the Tower in the 1360s into the mansion owned by Sir John Beauchampe."

The building seen across the road was constructed in 1874 as the St. Paul's Cathedral (Choir) School. It bears some notable ornamentation on its facade. Here it proclaims the legend "He is Now Gone";

The building is now part of the Youth Hostel Association.

I liked the colors and textures of this small house on a quiet street in Salinas de Ibarra, Ecuador.
