Unless there’s a way to completely turn off touch functionality that I’m not aware of… the brand new Q2 I just received has a non-functional touch screen. Extremely frustrating. What happened to best in class quality control?

Ordered from Adorama. Any advice in getting this replaced quickly? Leaving for a trip in about a week.

You can switch of touch control in the menu. Check to make sure it’s not been checked.

@Le Chef how can you switch off touch control entirely? My understanding is that the main menu (the first menu when you push the "Menu" button) can be operated by touch no matter what. No?

Absolutely nothing in the camera responds to touch. Playback, touch focus, nothing.

What exactly do you want to do? Not all functions work with tough

I want the touch screen to work as it should. It's a brand new $5,800 camera!

(Not sure what you mean by "Not all functions work with tough")

Check the settings for Display, and for Focus in the menus. The splash page on the LCD works by touch on mine and I have the latest firmware installed.

Yes, that should work. I know of no way to disable it, particularly as you say this is a brand new, out of the box, camera.

I can't see anywhere to turn Touch off entirely, just Touch AF. There is no Touch option in the Display settings.

Return it.

Sadly, looks like I have no other option. Given that I'm traveling in about a week, I'll see if Adorama cans send me a new one while this one's in transit back...

Mine works but it's not the most responsive thing I've seen.  I don't use it anyway.  I just highlight whatever it is I need to change and press the center button on the 4-way controller.

Never have been a big fan of touch screens.

Before sending it back I would check that you have the latest firmware installed, and that’s version 4.0. I would also check the menus for Display and Focus to see what options are checked. If none of that works, and no one here with up to 3 years of experience with the camera has a solution, you may need to send it back.

Have you fully charged the battery and tried removing and replacing the battery? Have you tried to do a full reset?

I’ve tried all of this. Sadly, no luck 😭

If it doesn’t do what the instruction book says it should do/not do then it probably is faulty.

I never use touch screen except for the splash screen, and that’s just to change profiles, so I’m probably not the person to help, sadly.

Right. Working on getting it replaced. Just a hassle. Appreciate your responses nonetheless.

When you find out that your new camera does not work properly then it is not helpful to open long discussions here. Bring it to your service center: have it exchanged or repaired.
