I followed the promt to up date my Phase One 3.7.6 to Phase One 3.7.7 believing, that it was a genuin up date of the LE version. Which it is not. It is a version I have to pay for. First of all:

What can 3.3.7 do that is worth paying for?

2)

How much does it cost?

Is there no way you can look at the RAW files in Phase One - and see them sharp - in different sizes other than either full 100% file size or a sort of screen adjusted size. I try to 'trip' through sizes and see only blured pictures.

 

I am not looking forward to the agressive e-mails and prompts that are now going to warn me about the 30 day expire of the 3.3.7 version. - Danes should stick to pig farming.

No you don't!!! I'm running 3.7.7 and got it free as a update. The Phase one sit is hard to use for updates. I think you have to register, IIRC, to get to the update page.

I just went there and clicked on the download and it asked me for my email address I used when I registered then it took me to the download. Is this the problem you are having? IE, not getting to the download page?

I did the same procedure as you, but I have not registered with the codes I got with the Light Edition. Is it this I have to do? When and where? I already seems to have a .3.7.7. for 30 days installed.

You have to register with the codes. The site is quite clued up. It refused me to do a third install, but when I lost my program on a computer that is was installed on ( I deinstalled by mistake) it reinstalled the program without problems. I clearly writes a registry entry for licensed copies to your computer.

On the main/home page of PO it has a link to Activate Software. And IIRC you can do it from within the program. In fact you have to to use it for more then 30 days.

How can I use the 3.7.7.for more than 30 days? If I put in the code that followed the LE edition I am told that the code is for another version of the program. I even tried to register. Then I was told that another account had thee-mail adress. I am going around in circles.

ACTIVATE THE SOFTWARE.

 

Ok have you installed the version that came with the M8?

If you did you had to activate it. You do that within the program, C1 LE. Then you run the update for the newer version.

 

If the version that came with the M8 is not installed I'm not sure you can use the registration/activation code that comes on the CD sleeve with the M8 software to register/activate the downloaded updated version. Never tried it as I have had the version that came with the M8 installed on 2 of my PC's from the first day I opened the M8 box.

 

I also had a problem when first running the activation. I must of type in the wrong code and the PO site (activation system) gave no indication that I had used the wrong code. It just didn't activate and 27-30 days latter it stated that the program would expire in 1-2-3 days. I then ran the activation a second time and made sure I type in the code correctly and it activated. I don't rember having to go through that again when doing updates, and I've done at least 2 from the version that came with the M8.

What I did first time trying to up date was to click on the first program in line on this page: Phase One -

By this ordering a 30 days trial version of Phase One Pro. Ha, ha!

 

Anyway, I followed your instructions (yes, I did) and, I now have three versions of Phase One on my screen; the old 3.7.6 version, the new 3.7.7 version and the 3.7.7 Pro version. I am a bit puzzled that the old version is not deleted automatically. And there does not seem to be an 'automatic' delete process. Except for that all seems to be fine.
