sunung1188 Posted June 25, 2022 Share #21 Posted June 25, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Went from the M8 to the M9 and the M10 (about a month ago). I actually picked it over the M10M / M10R as the value is amazing for the M10s now. It’s a truly enjoyable experience with DR and ISO for most, if not all practical situations. The form factor is absolutely amazing as is the viewfinder. Completely agree with previous comments saying that there may be a cult for the M10s - and the accessory options are fun!

grahamc Posted June 26, 2022 Share #22 Posted June 26, 2022 I bought m10-D a year or so ago and recently was fortunate enough to add 10-P, despite considering 10R. Most / all of my M photography is situational / street / humans and I just don’t think a higher resolution or higher dynamic range sensor would give me much meaningful improvement in this style of photography. Maybe it would and I’ll discover it someday. But for now I really enjoy the 24MP sensor files zipping over to my hard drive very quickly, which suits whole the style and convenient that I love my M’s for. I also own the 63MP A7Riv which I fondly refer to as the original M11. The massive files are awesome, deliver huge dynamic range and are extremely malleable. However they are also extremely sluggish to transfer from my SD card and for the photography I use my M for I doubt I’d see any improvement if a similar sensor was sitting in my M. Im sure this may differ for landscape photographers or other applications.
abphoto Posted June 26, 2022 Share #23 Posted June 26, 2022 I picked up the M 10 right after it was released. I liked it so much I picked up another a year or so later. I sold my original MM and original M-E to help fund the M 10 Mono last Aug and picked up an M 10 Mono. So I have 2 M 10s (used mostly for my pro work) and an M 10 Mono(my personal work) and these cameras are full capable of capturing anything i am seeing. I have no desire to upgrade because more MPs or more automation doesn't equal better for me.
PhongNguyen0196 Posted June 27, 2022 Share #24 Posted June 27, 2022 Yes yes and yes. The camera manufacturers are pushing too hard for megapixels war, when in fact, making great pictures have little to do with it. The system is perfectly fine for years to come. Trust me, I though the same until I tried the M11, great camera but images are relatively "the same" in my eyes, unless you have strong desire for pixel peeping. Print it big or small, the camera hold up well. Even the M240 are still great for today standard, albeit given it good lighting, and the slow operational process. You will love it, no doubt
rramesh Posted June 30, 2022 Share #25 Posted June 30, 2022 Just using ON1 Resize and I am able to blow up images multiple times with excellent resolution and quality. With fast improving software and AI tools there is no longer a need for more and more megapixels. Maybe dynamic range, but the incremental steps in this with every camera generation, is minimal. Does not really justify the cost of upgrading to the latest and best.
DI1 Posted July 23, 2022 Share #26 Posted July 23, 2022 I had an M6 which I really enjoyed using, sold it and bought an M9 which I loved, but it needed a new sensor soon afterwards. I loved the colors from that sensor. Sold the M9 (after it was fixed by Leica). Bought an SL with 24/90 which after the honeymoon phase sat unused due to the size and weight of that combo. Even with M lenses, the SL was just too large to comfortably carry around. Just traded the SL and 24/90 for a cpo’d M10 and couldn’t be happier. The size of the M10 is perfect, the colors are excellent, it is a joy to use!
