The rubber eyecup on my SL2 tore due to an accident. Anyone have any experience getting this fixed? There is a Japanese seller on eBay that claims to have genuine OEM replacement eyecups with 4 tiny screws. Is this something that can be done by the owner without sending it off somewhere? Heading overseas in around a month and don't want to send it out if I can avoid it (not to mention the $$). Any guidance appreciated!

Leica does replace them.

It is easy to change with small crew driver.

I did it myself

Awesome. I ordered the part from overseas, if it’s not too much trouble I may message you when it comes in if I run into problems :) appreciate everyone’s help!

It would be good to have a couple spares just in case.  So if the group can post a link to the sl2 version (if it’s different from the original SL,  that would be a great help to all I am sure.

just flip up the rubber from the inside, it will expose the screws, they are 4 in square configuration.

go soft on the screws.

Am I the only one that gets constantly poked in the belly by the eyepiece or is that due to my physique? It will take some time to get used to it 🙂

That is the real reason for this soft rubber eyecup... ;) :D
I also had the same “problem“ so I started carrying my camera on the hand strap...
“problem“ solved... :D
