Hello Keith,

 

An interesting admission. The foreground and the background differ in their lighting conditions and in the color. That gives its own irresistible attraction to the picture.

It is a light that great British painters worked hard to capture - Constable, Cox, de Wint, Cotman etc. Distance is difficult for photographers to capture well.

 

Pete - its OK in B&W but I'm not as captivated by monochrome for this shot (unlike most where I love B & W) but see what you think.

Terrific light and magnificent colours captured here Keith.

An image of this type works also very well in a panoramic format say, cropping out the darker clouds.....but that's just my opinion.

Not bad looking at all in b&w too.

Very nicely spotted Keith.
