Which viewfinder do I have?

Hi all,

I posted this last night, but it seems to have been a victim of the system problem. At any rate - I recently picked up a 1963 M2 which has had the viewfinder replaced with what I think is an M6 viewfinder. I know that this is the official repair for a non-functioning finder in an M2 or an M3. Without getting into the pros and cons of replacement versus repair (I really had no choice in the matter), I am curious as to which finder I have. The finder has 28, 35, 50, 75, 90, and 135 framelines. I have no idea what the magnification factor is as I am somewhat new to rangefinders.

I have to say that, while I realize the M2 finder is revered by many, I am glad to have a viewfinder that I shouldn't have to worry about repairing in the near future.

Thanks

Ken

It ought to be, as you say, an M6 type Rangefinder, and if it displays 28 to 135 the magnification is 0,72 X ; there was a version with 0,85 X magnification, but lacked the 28 frame, and also the 0,58 X, without 135. Nice to have in on a M2 ! I wonder which is the cost... I have a M2 with VF broken... could worth.
