I’d be curious if anyone with OIS capable Panasonic/Sigma lenses noticed any improvements in image stabilization. To my knowledge, currently when OIS is enabled on third-party lenses, IBIS is disabled on SL2 and SL2-S bodies.

Similarly, I would be curious if back-button focus is now working with Panasonic lenses that have a focus clutch when the focus ring is set to MF mode.

I don't think they will be able to make that work, (clutch, and back focus button), sadly that's the reason I ended selling my pana 2470mm :(

I’ve been staying away from Panasonic lenses for this reason as well.

With 4.0, back button focus works with Sigma lenses and Panasonic 70-300 but not with the P16-35 which has the clutch. So no change. As far as I can tell IBIS and the P70-300 or Sigma 150-600 OIS still do not function together either. So, I’m also curious what the enhancements are…

Ironically, the lenses with the clutch are the so-called certified Leica lenses and are the none compatible ones :)

don't look away from the pana prime ones, they are great. Not SL APO quality, but still very good. I have the 24mm f1.8 pana, and it's relatively small, focuses fast, image quality is good and weighs almost nothing.

On those Pana primes-

would the inexpensive LUMIX 50mm L mount allow back button focus?

It does on the SL 601.

It's a nice lens - sharp, harmonious bokeh, lightweight.
