Olaf_ZG Posted May 6, 2022 Share #21 Posted May 6, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Too often soldiers / people die nowadays for war which is not yours. Defending your country is something, attacking another is sth totally different. Furthermore, those being sent nowadays are being sent with too often a hidden agenda. Too many casualties under the false name of freedom: real reason is too often big profits behind. Make love, not war. The world will be a better place because of it. Ouroboros Posted May 6, 2022 Share #22 Posted May 6, 2022 7 hours ago, Herr Barnack said: So in your mind, anyone in any nation's military who is issued a rifle to do their job is a nutcase. Got it. This kind of "thinking" brings to mind the words of John Stuart Mill: And the words of George Orwell: It seems obvious that a little less name calling and a little more respect for those who volunteer to endure violence on behalf of others is in order. Regardless of nationality, all soldiers bleed red in their efforts to defend the freedom and safety of their less than grateful countrymen. And in the words of William Gladstone (I doubt you've heard of him): "Men are apt to mistake the strength of their feeling for the strength of their argument. The heated mind resents the chill touch and relentless scrutiny of logic". 1
