Hi all,

Hope everyone's well. I was wondering if anyone knows where in London UK I can get an M4-P looked at for CLA servicing, and possible reskinning please?

I've seen some places mentioned online like Camera Obscura or Aperture, but would love to know if anyone has had actual experience or if anyone has any recommendations.

Many thanks! 😊

Cameraworks.co.uk  in Bury UK did my M2 excellent service but wasn't qiuck. I spoke to them and they were up front about the waiting time (3 months +) but their work was beyond reproach, full daignostic report and a properly working camera when I got it back.

There’s a long pinned thread on repair specialists in the Leica collectors and historical forum reporting experience with these people.
I’ve recently had a simple lens CLA from Camera Obscura (reasonably quick and competent) and I have an early Leica and lens being sorted by Malcolm Taylor (with whom I have an enjoyable phone chat every few weeks. Today’s chat was about how to make gold leaf - nothing to do with Camera repairs).

...Malcolm Taylor's a personal hero of mine, although I haven't needed him for almost 7 years (touch wood). Does he still repair Leica equipment?

He's repairing a II Model D (rangefinder refurb) and Elmar 5cm (bent infinity tab) at the moment. Delightful to chat to (he only communicates by phone). He told me his lead time is around 3 months, so he must still have plenty of work on.

...this is good news. Thanks for the update, LocalHero1953.
