Advertisement Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Hi agfa100, Take a look here TT Artisan 35mm F 1.4 asph M mount. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
84bravo Posted April 26, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2022 I have this lens. I'm not impressed with its performance at f1.4. Its just not tack sharp. Once its stopped down to f2 its quite sharp. All reports are that the 7A lens is sharper, although I haven't tried it yet.
david strachan Posted April 26, 2022 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2022 I'm not sure any lens, from manufacturer, is "tack sharp" at minimal aperture. One always have to accept a certain trade off. Everything is in focus at smaller aperture, from any brand really. ...
agfa100 Posted April 26, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted April 26, 2022 I have only had the lens for two weeks now. I was quite happy with the the lens at f 2.0 but not enough shots to know for sure yet.

For off brand lenses my 7A 28mm f1.4 is sharp wide open as well as the 35 f2 and TT 50mm f1.4. The TT Artisan 35mm f1.4 is soft wide open. It is quite sharp at f2. If I were shooting everything at f8 I wouldn't bother spending the money on 1.4 lenses.

Here a sample at 1.4, click on photo for the high res. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I sold it for three reasons: the most important, the veiling flare. It was very prone to. Then, for its weight and size, although I could have live with this. I think is a great lens. agfa100 Posted April 28, 2022 Author Share #7 Posted April 28, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took off the very pretty copy of the leica hood and got myself a 50mm hood that works well and also a 35mm style leica screw in hood that is also better. I also have a Ver1 35mm summicron that I purchased way back in 71 if I need real sharpness, along with my Ver 2 50 summilux and a Kern Macro Switar 50mm f 1.9 with a leica adp that mates up with the RF cam. Way too many lenses, I learned early on to never sell any of my Leica glass.
