My M7 is currently with Leica at the moment 'cos since 2015, my mum has passed and I'm having a new top plate made to include both hers and my dad's signature on it. I'm not certain how they'll squeeze in both signatures yet (in an elegant way without looking messy, but I have faith that they'l be able to do it nicely). I'm also looking at changing the shutter dial & the on/off switch to the Hermes version. Back in 2015 I had an à la carte top plate with my dad's signature engraved on the top. This year, I had the top plate revised by Leica (new top plate required) to add my mum's signature to it too. The camera was out of my hands for 7+ months but I think it's worth it. There's a slight smearing of the ink on the top plate which I'm in conversations with Leica service at the moment, and I think the signatures could have been a little closer, but overall satisfied with it. Whilst I had the opportunity to redo the top plate, I also took the opportunity to revise the shutter dial, on/off switch, and the shutter button retainer ring to the Hermès version.
