M2Pete Posted April 8, 2022 Share #1  Posted April 8, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) In two months time I'll be heading home (for good) after 47 years here in the US. I'm really lacking in any real knowledge of the Australian photography market. I'm not planning to buy anything soon but more interested in repairs and a CLA if it becomes necessary. I am aware of the stores in Sydney and Melbourne but does anyone know if repairs are in house or sent to Germany? I also know I'll be closer to Japan and Hong Kong for a repair/trip isn't out of the question. I know it's incredibly lazy of me to ask this but not sure where to start looking. Thanks for any replies.😊

stray cat Posted April 8, 2022 Share #2 Â Posted April 8, 2022 Camera Clinic in Melbourne is an authorized Leica service centre. I don't know what there is in any other states but they're competent.

Thanks!
M2Pete Posted April 8, 2022 Author Share #4  Posted April 8, 2022 Just found this searching the forum, Camera Clinic got another shout out here so it looks like I'll be revisiting Melbourne at a later date!
cboy Posted April 9, 2022 Share #5  Posted April 9, 2022 (edited) I understand the main office is in Melbourne. Had to contact them for a part I needed, and it was a pleasant experience. 2c Leica Australia service experience. Compared to some others in the forum my experience with Leica Australia service has been overall positive. Camera clinic is the official repairer. Dealing them was through correspondence and overall the experience was good. The repair took longer than expected (1-2month) but it was at the height of covid and had to wait for the spare part to be shipped in. Don't expect speedy service. I read reports that the Syd store sales aren't that great but it may have changed. Distributers in QLD and other states are through Digidirect. They have sales of their Leica products throughout the year. I'm not affiliated to any of the above btw All the best  Edited April 9, 2022 by cboy
Mute-on Posted April 9, 2022 Share #6  Posted April 9, 2022 Also consider Kanto Camera in Tokyo for film camera and lens overhauls and repainting. They don’t do digital, but we have Camera Clinic for that.
