In two months time I'll be heading home (for good) after 47 years here in the US. I'm really lacking in any real knowledge of the Australian photography market. I'm not planning to buy anything soon but more interested in repairs and a CLA if it becomes necessary. I am aware of the stores in Sydney and Melbourne but does anyone know if repairs are in house or sent to Germany? I also know I'll be closer to Japan and Hong Kong for a repair/trip isn't out of the question.

I know it's incredibly lazy of me to ask this but not sure where to start looking.

Thanks for any replies.😊

Camera Clinic in Melbourne is an authorized Leica service centre. I don't know what there is in any other states but they're competent.

Have not been to Melbourne since 1988 so might make a trip/CLA combo one day! Thanks!

I understand the main office is in Melbourne. Had to contact them for a part I needed, and it was a pleasant experience.

2c Leica Australia service experience. Compared to some others in the forum my experience with Leica Australia service has been overall positive. Camera clinic is the official repairer. Dealing them was through correspondence and overall the experience was good.  The repair took longer than expected (1-2month) but it was at the height of covid and had to wait for the spare part to be shipped in. Don't expect speedy service.

I read reports that the Syd store sales aren't that great but it may have changed.

Distributers in QLD and other states are through Digidirect. They have sales of their Leica products throughout the year.

I'm not affiliated to any of the above btw

All the best
