sbenson619 Posted March 30, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) New Q2 monochrom owner, my first Leica purchase. So far loving the camera. I was wondering if you guys just keep the switch in the ON position the whole time and just let the power save mode kick in. I remember watching a video about someone doing the same thing. Was wondering what you guys were doing and if it kills the battery or anything else. Thanks for your input.

Anakronox Posted March 30, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2022 Yep, just leave the power on at all times. It’s easy to get into the habit of quickly tapping the shutter release to wake the camera up when you know you’re about to see something interesting. 1
Le Chef Posted March 30, 2022 Share #3 Posted March 30, 2022 What's a real drain is when you have bluetooth on. You don't need it as the app is painfully slow and clunky. Faster ways to transfer files using a card reader. 2 1

When it connects to the Fotos app, it connects via Wi-Fi. What is Bluetooth used for??

First: I never switch off any of my cameras (Normally I forget but with right setting this is no problem). Then you have to be careful that when carrying your Q2 then the eye sensor always will rub against your bidy telling the camera that you're looking through the view finder. The camera will never switch off which is a problem. There is the solution: Go into the power saving settings: There turn the saving mode to off (it took me a long time to find that out). The Auto power off you set to the minimum (2 mins). The all displays auto Off you set to 30s. These are my settings and that works fine. My battery keeps fine. Pelu2010 Posted April 19, 2022 Share #6 Posted April 19, 2022 Via Bluetooth the location data are transferred. If you deactivate BT then the satellite image in the lower right corner disappears. You need to activate it once though the slow app. Then you can activate and deactivate it by BT.
M11 for me Posted June 8, 2022 Share #7 Posted June 8, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) With my Q2 the GPS tagging does not work even with the new and recent firmware. I have bluetooth on and in the EVF I see the bluetooth icon. This icon some times has a tick (Häkchen) and most time not. Then I see underneeth the "location" icon. I never see a satelite icon. I have written to the Leica support through the Leica photos app twice and twice I git a mail back to tell me that I have to delete The camera in the app plus delete it in the photos menu of the camera and re-install (pair) after restarting the iPhone. I did that several times but the tag I get on my photographs are alway old ones (From home or from phito location but then for all photographs the same tag). As a consequence I still use my app GeoTagr. In lightroom I add the tags that the app collects from my phone. That works precisely. Any suggestions?
