gordec Posted March 12, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a M9 with a dead pixel and vertical column. I tried Pixel Fixer, but I just can get it to remove the vertical line. Anyone has any insides? I followed the instructions multiple times. BTW it's a new sensor so not corrosion issue. jaapv Posted March 13, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2022 With a bit of luck Leica should be able to map it out for you. Otherwise make a Photoshop action for one pixel or the whole line..
Raymondl Posted March 13, 2022 Share #3 Posted March 13, 2022 Hey there, Make sure you tick the box for "This hot pixel causes a <vertical> hot strip" That did the trick for me, I found it difficult to see this option...because it was so deep in the menus, I have included the screenshot below. Steps: Tools -> Cameras -> Edit -> Select co-ordinate -> Edit -> Tick the box (Note: this step needs to be performed for all co-ordinates) Let me know how you go, good luck. Note: Pixel Fixer works on Mac using CrossOver Welcome, dear visitor! Hi, I did check that box. When I run it on the file, it still doesn't take care of the line. Very weird. I sent mine in to Leica already, so it's in their hands now. They won't take a DNG file through email like some users have suggested.

If you want me to try/validate on my end, I would be happy to just message me directly. Cheers. Will be keen to hear what Leica comes back with. IIRC that option is only available for the M10, earlier cameras need sending in to be remapped (AFAIK the 10R can remap it's own pixels and I assume -but have no clue- that the M11 can do that too)

Thank you. Edited May 17, 2022 by jhgnag

I just got the estimate and its shy of $400 (before tax+return shipping fee) for remapping sensor and CLA. Hoping to get it back by the end of this month or early next month. gordec Posted May 29, 2022 Author Share #11 Posted May 29, 2022 Got my camera back last week. Took over 2 months to get it done. The cost was $400ish like what 69exchange quoted. They fixed the sensor hot pixel error and did a CLA. I hope this doesn't happen very often. At least it's an easy fix. M9 is my first Leica, and I'm still trying to figure out if Leica is for me. I do like the Kodak sensor on the M9. There is something special about the rendering.
