Photographers who turn to Photo Journalism have always impressed me.  Exposed to reality, their courage shows the rest of us what is true.  Tonight on CNN's Anderson Cooper, David Turnley spoke of his experiences telling what is true.

I caught a part of that segment. Interesting comments on how the war in Ukraine compares to his prevous experiences (Bosnia, Chechnya/Grozny, etc.) Noticed he was wearing his Ms - didn't try to figure out which models or which lenses. ;)

It was mentioned he is feeding pix to his instagram account.

It appears that both David AND Peter are there in Lviv and posting to their Insta accounts.  I love their work, follow them both, and highly recommend them...

Again tonight, the images captured by photojournalists were nationally (U.S.) broadcast in order to help us see the reality of human pain and physical destruction brought on with war.

CNN again gave several minutes of broadcast time to the un-narrated black/white images from Ukraine by David Turnley.  Impossible to watch without tears.

NBC also valued still images by broadcasting the work of prominent photojournalists Marcus Yam from the Los Angeles Times and Nicole Tung of Harper's.

With the constant presence of "easy video", it is interesting that still black/white images seem to continue as the best and perhaps most accurate explanation of very difficult human experiences.

Really cannot use the word beautiful, but the images were amazing and truly emotional.
