ejg1890 Posted March 6, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering a Leica M10-P vs M10-R but the concern I have is sharpness or more precisely blur/focus issues with 40mp vs 24mp. I frequently shot in the city and and night. I currently have a Nikon Z6 with IS and have no issues shutting even at 1/15s rather than cranking up ISO to 3200-6400. However, neither M10-P or M10-R have IS. A 24mp will be far more forgiving with camera shake at the slower shutter speed; at least in theory. Hitting accurate focus is also a similar concern as once again 24mp will be more forgiving with focusing slightly off. What have M10-R users experienced. What are the slower shutter speeds that can be used with M10-R and still not have camera shake blurriness. Thanks
Advertisement Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Hi ejg1890, Take a look here Leica M10-P vs M10-R at slower shutter speed and focus. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Knipsknecht Posted March 6, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 6, 2022 Recently I bought a used M10-R. Until now I haven’t experienced any significant difference to my M10 (without any -P, -R or whatever). The M10-R pics get blurry under the same conditions the M10 pics get blurry - for example when I try to shoot in the streets using zone focusing (mostly at f8 on a 35mm or 28mm lens) in rather dim light or while using an ND filter in bright sunlight. The shutter speed drops sometimes to something like 1/30s, and if I don’t stand absolutely still the shot will get at least a little bit blurry most of the time. But if I stand still 1/30s will be fine most of the time. Until now I am very satisfied with the M10-R.
