I'm actually on the hunt for a q2m. I found some reporters, but for like $1300 more than a regular Q2M. Any reason I should be willing to spend the extra money for kevlar and green paint? I'm thinking the novelty could wear off and that the stealth normal Q2M could be "better" choice anyhow. Any users get the reporter and grow out of it?

I prefer the look of the Q2M, one of the most beautiful cameras I've ever seen...

@profus   Take a look at this thing of beauty:  https://robbreport.com/gear/cameras/gallery/in-pictures-leica-m-monochrom-stealth-camera-2783357/new-leica-m-monochrom_stealth_02_/

When this beast dropped, it took my breath away.  I missed out, though, as I did on the Titanium M-A kit... 😢

Nevertheless, I struggle relentlessly on with my M10 Monochrom and 28mm Elmarit ASPH #11677.  😎

@Dob3rman  Before you spend your hard earned thousands, perhaps have a read of this thread regarding the Reporter's "indestructible" kevlar skin:

I'm just in it for the green paint. Someone here recently recovered their M-10 Reporter with black leather, and it looked pretty sweet. But yeah, don't buy this model specifically for the Kevlar – it will only last for a few battles, not the entire war :)

FWIW the kevlar is still lasting on mine, well used since April.

I’m on my second Q2R, but I haven’t had it very long. The first one’s Kevlar held up well, but then again I don’t put my cameras through much abuse. Most of the frayed Kevlar examples on the Q2R have beat up bodies to match.
