sergiomarried Posted February 26, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi friends, I’m not usually very active on the forum but I remember years ago being very curious about how a modern digital M camera would behave under real working scenarios, even more an M Monochrom considering how much limited is the choice of these tools. I felt that this recent example of a collaboration I had with a music band could be potentially useful for anyone interested in seeing real life results, especially under these challenging conditions. Hope you like it or that it’s somehow useful, best regards to all, Sergio. All photographs made with M10M, Nokton 35mm f1.4 v2 and 50mm Summilux Asph. Photojournoguy Posted February 27, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2022 Thank you for sharing! Beautiful set! With little kids my nightlife is nonexistent but I often think how fun it would be to capture this type of scene as a listener to a musical group even in a bar/lounge setting, having no access for something like you did. Out of curiosity, are images for these purposes internal use only for the group’s record keeping? Or is there a larger usage plan?
Dennis Posted February 27, 2022 Share #3 Posted February 27, 2022 Great collection Sergio, I really like the BW tones. I also can see that you and the Nokton are inseparable This pic is awesome, my favorite Welcome, dear visitor! The main purpose is just to create a very personal document of this music band. I’ve been collaborating and developing a priceless trust relationship with them over the last years… You never know for sure how/where these things will end up en the long run, and that’s the beauty of it as well I guess as well. For the time being is a way to keeping this timeless way of pure essential b&w music documentary photography alive, at least in my direct area of influence, and I can’t love it more 🙏❤️

This is the purest expression of why I love this unique and challenging b&w photography, especially with the MM. Thanks a lot for the compliment about that photograph, I know how much you love layering and it’s an honor coming from you my friend… And yeah, the Nokton… my god, it’s such a performer, always delivering brilliantly. I sometimes think about getting a 35mm Leica but then I imagine myself quickly missing this tiny “cheap” sucker and the thought goes away quickly… Never fails me, small, light, solid, quick, gorgeous classic rendering… yeah, we’re in love ❤️😅

Not surprised output like this comes from a long term relationship full of trust. I was going to say the mono tones and gradations are ideal for what you capture, but then who are we kidding, it’s perfect for ANY scenario. Enjoyed your website as well, and see you dabble in family documentary work as well. Can tell that for you just as pleasing as the final result is the enjoyment you get while using the mono. And that, is something you can’t put a price tag on. Okay okay you can, and it’s hefty. Ha! Edited February 27, 2022 by Photojournoguy
