Henry Taylor Posted February 21, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted February 21, 2022 (edited) I might add the first 4 were shot at 300 mm and the last at 600mm with the SL601. Edited February 21, 2022 by Henry Taylor last shot at 600mm
Herr Barnack Posted February 21, 2022 Share #5 Posted February 21, 2022 Nice images, Henry. Sort of like street photography but without the street. And with a long lens. IMHO there is nothing wrong with using a long lens to capture images of people living life. Jay Maisel is known for his street photography using a 70-300mm zoom lens. He shoots scenes across the street from where he stands. This method of working lets him capture some interesting images without disturbing or influencing his subjects or their behavior. I find Jay's methodology preferable to Bruce Gilden's confrontational way of doing street photography.

Thanks for the insight I find when you have only one lens you use what you have and in this situation it work out quite well for me. Usually when shooting street shots I prefer either a 35 mm or 28 mm,

I tried with a 50mm on several occasions, but a 50 always seemed to leave enough room between me and my intended subject for other people to aimlessly wander through my frame lines at the most inopportune of moments. That gets to be maddening in short order. 😠
