AA90mm f2 R vs SL mount

Hello everyone, 

I'm looking for the APO 90mm f2 asph for my L mount camera, initially I prefer the R AA 90mm f2 as this is a manual lens, then I realise the SL AA 90mm has different formula in the lens design. From my experience the SL AA 50mm f2 is amazing on digital, however I can't put the SL lens on the other M camera like the R mount lens does.

So what is your thought, which one would you keep for the lifetime ? Thanks in advance

I think none of them will keep for lifetime -  therefore you have to buy a M lens... 😉

(i don`t know the R90 mm - but I own a APO SL 90mm for my SL2 and I can say that lens is AWESOME!!)

The 90 R Apo and the 90 M Apo share the same optical design. 

If you intend to use it on both M and SL, the M will be more useful.

Thanks Buj and Leicaiste, I have thought about the M version and the price is better of all. However the close focus is at 1m and the manual focus is not as good as the R version if I want it for video. The SL version has AF so surely works best but it is still an electronic lens without aperture manual control.

typo problem

I have the R version. Get the SL ... unless you do video. I prefer R to M as it has a longer focus throw but AF (especially with a model) wins

Thank you Sandokan, that's what I thought, if I have the money I would get both
