Leica 28mm f2.8 Elmarit version 3 question

Hi all,

       I pick up a lens on ebay and received it today and so far on my Leica M8 it's working nice 

and I have that close to 35mm angle of view. I paid a great price for it and it has one little thing 

the aperture numbers and metal notch that guides the hood are off center does anyone on here know 

how to fix it?, it's not too bad but when you put the lens hood on it looks off, any help would be great.

Hi,

This is an issue that occurs with lenses of this vintage when the lens is mounted or unmounted by holding on the front or the lens hood itself. It's probably the fault of the previous owners.

That said, there is a way to loosen the lens parts and re-configure in the correct orientation, but I would not recommend doing it by yourself. It's probably best to send it in for a CLA with a professional.

Thanks, I fixed it myself  I loosened the three small screw's and turned it in the proper setting 

and it's fine.

About your V3.... take care of the plastic focus finger-drive... isn't top quality... mine got cracked (no apparent reason) and discovred that wasn't an isolated case...
