Crazyshiloh Posted February 7, 2022 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have bought my Q2 for one month. However, when I tried shooting at night by using high ISO (ISO >6400) . DNG files showed annoying banding. ISO:50000 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CxdRnteHtLj8uzOePKXjCb1-fjGVWNJM/view?usp=sharing I know that some unwanted color points may be seen at high ISO but never heard about banding. Here is the reply from Leica company: “Banding is not generally “normal”. It may happen though, especially under extrem situations, like the lighting conditions in the pictures you sent us.” Does any Q2 owners have the same problem? Should i send back to Leica to fix it? Advertisement Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Hi Crazyshiloh, Take a look here Horizontal banding of Leica Q2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 8, 2022 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2022 Severely underexposed, high-ISO. This looks completely normal to me. You simply have run into the limits of digital photography.

You may see color points at high iso but not banding (Especially in Q2) Here are pictures that Leica staff sent to me (No banding at ISO 50000 despite underexposed) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YWEynq70BiEsx44ZOjgem_Mit3qeMUVm
jaapv Posted February 8, 2022 Share #4 Posted February 8, 2022 It is not just ISO settings. Underexpose by one EV value at 50.000 and you are already on the equivalent of ISO. 100.000 ~Two stops? 200.000, etc.
