azzo Posted September 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2007 Maybe, just maybe I can understand all this in an arena...but letting bulls loose in narrow streets...that I could never understand ! Far too dangerous, IMHO. A very good capture Steve. Azzo

spylaw4 Posted September 8, 2007 Share #9 Posted September 8, 2007 Great shot - but what's that black thingie in his hand? Surely he's not trying to take a pic on his mobile phone?
stunsworth Posted September 8, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted September 8, 2007 Thanks everyone Well, it could be a mobile phone I suppose <grin>, but I thinks it's the device they use to snatch the tokens off the bull's horns. Here's a section at 100%.
rfshootist Posted September 8, 2007 Share #11 Posted September 8, 2007 Thanks everyone Well, it could be a mobile phone I suppose <grin>, but I thinks it's the device they use to snatch the tokens off the bull's horns. Here's a section at 100%. It is something like a crest, to tear off hair or a badge made up on the bulls forehead. And that is what this dangerous game is about....who manages to tear it off wins. It proves the direct contact, replaces the rapier. The boules on the horns prevent worst case, nontheless there is still the risk of severe injuries. stunsworth Posted September 8, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted September 8, 2007 You are right Bertram The point of the 'game' is to make contact with the bull's head. Not a game I'd want to play myself. These bulls weren't huge, but they moved quickly and seemed very annoyed <grin>.
