If the Summicron 50 is collapsible, only mount /unmount on the M not collapsed (anyway easier to grab) so not to "hurt" anything in the M. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The collapsed portion only goes back a few millimeters, and will clear the inner pieces behind the mount. That said I still mount it extended just to be safe, but don't worry if you don't.
