Suze Posted January 22, 2022 Author Share #3 Â Posted January 22, 2022 Yes - but is it compatible with an R3? I bought a Leica R release and it wasn't compatible... so now a bit nervous buying stuff if its not documented as compatible Do you know if it is? masjah Posted January 22, 2022 Share #4 Â Posted January 22, 2022 My guess would be that a much much cheaper third party cable release would be compatible. Some of the very recent models are a bit fussy as to what they accept in their shutter button screw threads(I think to do with whether or not the thread is tapered. The Leica example illustrated above is very expensive. I would have a look at the one you have got, and see whether or not the thread is tapered. Whatever it is, buy a dirt cheap third party one of the other type! Â (No promises though.)
enrico58 Posted January 23, 2022 Share #5 Â Posted January 23, 2022 Hi, I just tried using a generic tapered thread cable on my R3 and it works flawlessly
