Difference between earlier collapsible screw mount Summarons and later M mount Summarons?

Is it similar to the relationship or differences between the collapsible and rigid Summicron. More similar? Less similar? Is it an updated design? And practically speaking what are the differences that can be told when taking pictures? Would love to hear your thoughts and experience.

2.8cm f/5.6 Summaron ( link to Wiki 2.8cm 1:5.6 ) or 3.5cm Summaron f/3.5 ( Wiki 3.5cm 1:3.5 ) and f/2.8 ( Wiki 3.5cm 1:2.8 )

Oh my, it was so small I thought it was! I was looking at the screw mount 35mm 2.8 and thought it and the M mount version must be two different lenses based on the false assumption that the screw mount was collapsible, I don't know how I got that idea.

The whole summaron line is so sweet! True masterpieces lenses for the true photographer. No messing around with bokeh to save a boring shot. It’s all about composition and small size.

I agree, Summaron lenses are all very good.

I use many since very long.

Maybe we (...I) can see the newer but already discontinued Summarit-M 2.4 ...2.5/35 as newer "Summaron style"?
