George Stoichev Posted January 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I have Leica M6 with Summicron M 50mm. I’m looking for 35/28mm lens and have in mind Zeiss ZM line with f/2 35mm or f/2.8 28mm. If you own some of these models, please, share some impressions. I own Contax G2 and 3 different Zeiss lens and they are wonderful.

Keith (M) Posted January 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2022 Bought my 35mm Biogon f2 over ten years ago. A fine performer on film and digital. Welcome, dear visitor! sinjun Posted January 18, 2022 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2022 Have you considered the Voigtlander Ultron series for both focal lengths? There are some glowing reviews out there.

genji Posted January 19, 2022 Share #5 Posted January 19, 2022 I recently compared the Biogon ZM 28/2.8 with the Ultron 28/2 II and immediately put the ZM up for sale. The ZM 28 needs to be stopped right down to match the Ultron 28’s performance wide open. I was so impressed with the Ultron 28 that I also bought the Ultron 35/2 II, a purchase that prompted the sale of my Biogon ZM 35/2. I’ve held on to four ZM lenses: Distagon 35/1.4, C Biogon 35/2.8, Planar 50/2, and C Sonnar 50/1.5.
RexGig0 Posted January 22, 2022 Share #6 Posted January 22, 2022 No personal experience, but I did the homework on the 28mm ZM, including paying for a subscription to Lloyd Chambers’ site, and decided AGAINST acquiring the 28mm ZM. It is not one of the better ZM lenses. To be clear, Lloyd Chambers was not the only one who dissuaded me. He is the only source that I can recall, at the moment. I have a much more favorable attitude, regarding the 35mm ZM lenses, and may well acquire all three. Thus far, I only have the largest, the Distagon 1,4/35mm ZM. I love my 50mm, 28mm, and 90mm Leica-M lenses, but, at 21mm, 25mm, 35mm, 75mm, and 85mm, have not hesitated to acquire ZM and VM lenses. (I have yet to actually shoot with the 25mm and 75mm.)
