RMF Posted January 17, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know that the 2000'ish M10-R Black Paints have most likely all be shipped out from Leica Germany, does anyone know if there are any lingering supply of them at any Leica shops (please PM me). I saw at one point that Leica Miami had a couple Black Paint CPO's (which sold pretty quickly) and wondering if BP CPO's too might be starting to become available to Leica Boutiques and stores? You should be able to do much better than that somewhere in the US. If the UK price is representative of today's worldwide value of an M10R BP, they have appreciated by over a thousand bucks since I bought mine from Leica Miami a couple of weeks ago! Mikep996 Posted January 18, 2022 Share #9 Posted January 18, 2022 (edited) Out of curiosity, earlier today I tried to find one in the US, thinking that since I found 6 of them a few weeks ago (with guidance from this site) when I was looking, there would be a couple still around or "new for sale." But I couldn't find any. There's a brand new one on Ebay from Hong Kong for around 9500 USD. Don't know how customs/whatever would figure into the final price. I'm surprised, I figured that folks would be selling them to support buying M11s! That's why I figured Miami Leica had two of them at the same time. There was one at Camera West this weekend, but it sold before I could reply. I’m hoping to be able to find a lightly used one soon(ish), but I think even that will be tough. It was just a camera bag though, maybe cameras are different. They dont have the black paint in stock though. Might be hard to find a black paint new for sale. Might be worth a trip to the UK? M9reno Posted January 20, 2022 Share #15 Posted January 20, 2022 It seems that the M11 launch released some pent-up demand for the M10R, especially the BP, by those waiting to see what the new camera offered, and having seen it, decided they preferred the M10R, or at least did not regard the M11 as a significant upgrade to it. I know of two Leica dealers that say they expect to get more in stock and even Leica Store Miami has it available for "pre-order" (Josh L. told me early last week that was a mistake, but it's still on the site, so...), but everywhere else I've checked has either removed it entirely or has it listed as sold out. It seems odd that they would keep making more after the launch of the M11, but maybe they were already making a batch when that camera was announced? I've seen some people say it was limited to 2000 bodies, but others say it wasn't a limited edition, so I'm not sure what to think. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Again, I had an AD tell me that he expects to receive more M10R BP bodies and saw another that says the same. I received my M10RBP from a US-based AD in November, and at the time I was told it was the last one they expected to get from Leica. In order to finance the purchase, I traded two LHSA M6 black paint bodies with glossy Rapidwinders, as well as my M9 with sensor corrosion.
