Be sure you have pushed your flash in the hot shoe of the camera till it was locked and well fixed on it. 😕

Look at your camera screen to see if the flash symbol appears; if not there is no conection.

MY SL2 works fine after a prophylactic Reset Camera; Shutter is on Mechanical; Flash 1st symbol is in Viewfinder; SF 60 can be manually triggered on or off camera, but never by the camera. Changing zoom lenses made no difference and I am now using a 50mm f/2.0 lens. Flash set on TTL, camera in A or P,  no difference. Auto ISO. AFs. Firmware is 3.0. A soft eraser and alcohol have been used to clean contact on flash and camera.

Flash worked perfectly with dealers SL2. Frustration meter is now pegged at highest level since rapid film advance in R7 allowed light to leak through the exposure number window and fog some film images.Bummer.

Sounds like My SL2 and My SF 60 do not play well together. Maybe a Three Sigma flash and Three Sigma camera meet and refuse to  talk.

Suggestions? Sell Leica?

Are  there in your flash settings for  ""Auto ISO with flash" (ISO max or time expossure) out of range in your actual camera settings?

Are you using always Auto ISO when you fire your flash? If you set a fix value of ISO also fails?   If  you set your camera in Manual Mode at 1/250 speed also fails?

In slow speeds, Auto ISO priority can block the action of your flash.

Francisco.

If all else fails, you can search for EN_SF 60_Aktualisierung 2020.pdf on the Leica site. You might also look on the Nissin website for instructions for the corresponding flash. Getting the settings correct can be a bit tricky, especially when using the SF C1 trigger at first. I use both regularly in manual and TTL mode.  The point about the electronic shutter is also important as the flash will not trigger,at least in manual mode. You might also look for the instructions for the Nissin i60a, which does a good job at explaining some of the dials and functions.  See for example Nissin_i60A_Manual_FujiFilm.pdf.
