paulinmaryland Posted December 31, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought a used M 246 a year ago from KEH in Atlanta. I love the camera, but being old school, I never used the Live View until recently, when I was in New York, wanting to shoot on the street. I wanted to use the Live View so that it wasn't obvious I was shooting by raising the camera to my eye to compose. When I clicked the Live View button, instead of coming on, the screen just stays blank (dark with 2 parallel lines). I took it to Leica in Washington DC, they updated the software, but could not explain the problem. It's under warranty, and I could send it back to KEH to repair, but I've never sent them a camera to repair, and I'm afraid it will take weeks. I can't be with the camera that long. Wondering if this is simple problem, and if there is a faster way to get it fixed? Any suggestions? Paul in Maryland

kalle Posted December 11, 2022 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2022 Hello Paul did you try a reset the to the factory default settings?
pop Posted December 11, 2022 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2022 With the Leica M you could not activate Live View with uncoded lenses unless you explicitly activated an option to operate the shutter without a lens being mounted. Sorry, I can't remember the exact wording of the option.
paulinmaryland Posted December 15, 2022 Author Share #4 Posted December 15, 2022 FYI - I took it to Leica in Paris and the tech told me it was an electromagnetic problem and I will need to have it sent to Leica in Germany.
