Hi, I recently bought a M4-P and after shooting a couple of rolls I have noticed a white stripe coming from the upper left of the frame, it only appears in some shots randomly and the intensity varies as well. I am using a jupiter 12 with a m mount adapter on it. Also I shoot HP5 and do bulk loading. I thought it might just be a flare or something but I shot it indoors and it still showed me the white stripe (see picture attached). I don't know if it might be because I am loading/unloading the film incorrectly or if there is light seals for this camera. I appreciate if you guys can help me before considering to send it to repair.

I think, it is a leak in the camera. Looking at the front of the camera, it is at the bottom on the right side. It would help, if you could publish a picture of the negative (inclusive the perforation). Do you use a camera (half)case?

Hi jankap, thanks for your quick reply. I do not have a  case on my camera tho. Please take a look at the negatives. It seems that it comes out a little bit from the frame, starting maybe from the sprocket.

The last picture (with nr. 20) clearly shows a small leak in your camera. The negatives have clear borders otherwise.  Only a few negatives are exposed. The problem could be at the backside of the camera and there at the bottom on the right side. Because the backside is less exposed to environment light during use.

You can test further to find the leak and tape it off or let the camera be repaired. A test could be a small piece of film and expose the camera to the sun with the lens cap on the lens. But testing does not heal the problem.
