Hi!

I am looking for this particular rope strap I discovered while stalking someone's Instagram page.

I have the black Leica COOPH rope straps and it isn't this one. This one appears to be charcoal/grey. Is it even COOPH? I don't think it's the Zegna collaboration either.

Alternative brand maybe?

I have asked. The person is unresponsive haha.

That looks to maybe be it! Where can I find this? Leica AU website store doesn't feature it.

15$ all over eBay if you are up for such endeavour. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Just enter "rope camera strap charcoal".

I have two of these wonders from the bay, after 5 years absolutely no complaints, well made and they do the ultimate job well (keeping my Leicas hangin').

OK so the person just got back to me, just now.

His instagram message:

It's not official Leica, but I bought it at this shop in Japan.😊

Here's one from ebay that looks awfully close to the one from the dealer in Japan:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/254905488488?hash=item3b598d1468:g:dEEAAOSwUstgUUCh

I have one of the Vi Vante rope straps that i got from amazon - they are great straps:  https://www.amazon.com/Vi-Vante-Sheetline-electroplated-mounting/dp/B07N38BFSB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=27IT0DEZRLNWV&keywords=rope%2Bcamera%2Bstrap%2Bvivante&qid=1640198225&sprefix=rope%2Bcamera%2Bstrap%2Bvi%2Bvante%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-1&th=1

Edit

After giving this some thought, another possibility is to make your own.  On Amazon, you can get a 10 m./32 ft. length of 10.5 mm static line for $19.99 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0924PK159/ref=nav_signin?psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzSU5TV0w3QzJJREdPJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzMwNTIyMTNIVU1COFRTNEExNiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzU1MjM4SlVZWjMwNVZFTldaJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfaHFwX3NoYXJlZCZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=&  You could also go to a hiking/camping/climbing shop and buy 10mm static line for around 60 cents USD per foot, so around $4.00 would buy a length of rope long enough to make a cross body strap (130-140 cm. in length).

We have a leather works shop locally, which sells leftover leather scraps for a song.  I would expect they would be willing to sew together a length of climbing rope with leather ends I made from scraps bought from them for not much money.  It would not be hard at all to design leather strap ends made to hold split rings for attachment to camera body strap lugs.

Or a person could pay $110 for the rope straps sold by COOPH.  😨

I'm going to give this a try for one of my after Christmas projects.

I have the model artisan & Artist ACAM 306 Silk Black http://www.artisan-n-artist.com/product_detail.php?id=228  since 2015

These straps have always tempted me - I just haven't gotten around to getting one yet.

Truth is, I would have a hard time dropping $179 USD on this strap when a Harry Benz Vintage B is $140.

The $39 saved could go toward the purchase of the $9600 USD M11 body I'm GASing for..

I guess I'm just a tightwad at heart... 😅

you are certainly right for the price, but i love the silk instead of climbing rope even if i practice free climbing

btw your quote from Alberto Venzago could be from Laozi
