Just curious, if Leica made a 135/2.0 or 135/2.8, would it also work for your drama shoots?

I would want one since I think that the performance of the 35 and 50 Summicrons is superb. I am using the 90 end of the 24-90 currently. I actually still have the APO 120 S and the adapter for it but it’s a pretty big package to handle on the SL with the lens foot actually the tripod interface.

Surprised nobody said it.

I used the 80-200 for portraits in the studio where f4 with studio lights is fine (using f8 mostly), but when the model is always moving, AF would be great. I have the 24-90 which I used but bought the 90-280 for this purpose and for environment portraits. The other choice was one of the 70-200 f2.8 lenses, but that extra 80mm at the end swung it for me.

I too have the 80-200/4 and it is a bit cumbersome for portraits if want to shoot vertically, focus fast manually and stabilize the lens at the same time.  I've figured that sooner or later I may very well get the 90-280 but it is not a high priority for me.

A couple of weeks ago I shot the London Open Gardens where the brief was people enjoying the weekend.   24-90 in its element…
