He followed for 7 weeks the film crew of "Johnny Mad Dog" in Liberia, a film about child-soldiers. The B&W pictures, though staged, are chilling and also fascinating. And very motivating for us M8 afficionados. Some conclusions: only 8 seconds to get used to an M without advance-lever, no problems with the 1.3 factor. 21 mm useable without viewfinder, a pleasure to use Leica optics, dropped a few times with only some minor scratches as result, ect. etc. Good reading, ... in French. François Oh, hell! I saw that one on the newstand but didn't buy it. Now it's too late. Thanks for the information, though. Anyway, it's nice to know portfolios of professional journalists using the M8 on assignment are starting to appear. That should tone down the accusations that it's just a camera for rich amateurs. That should tone down the accusations that it's just a camera for rich amateurs. Actually, his agency - Collectif Synchro-X - bought the Camera and it arrived one week befor his departure to Liberia. His colleagues wanted to use it as well, but they decided that a chance to test it in the special - Monrovia - environment was too good to pass.
