barnabythebear Posted November 29, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hiya, I'm sure this has been covered but I couldn't find anything Has anyone found a decent way to cover up any sliver metalwork showing through the black surfacing of their Q? I'm looking at a couple of used Q2's and they look at 'used' Thanks, Nige.
Advertisement Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Hi barnabythebear, Take a look here Q black paint touch-up. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted November 29, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2021 Very hard to make it look acceptable. What is against a used look? cameras are made to be used...
barnabythebear Posted November 29, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted November 29, 2021 Hi, I'm OK with a used look but if it can be made to look better I'd be interested in trying it. Thanks, Nige.
nwphil Posted November 29, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 29, 2021 Just now, barnabythebear said: Hi, I'm OK with a used look but if it can be made to look better I'd be interested in trying it. Thanks, Nige. get a body case then I think I saw some full body neoprene thing - maybe was a 3d printed plastic wrap on Etsy... or....get it custom painted - will be spendy, but the new dings and scratches will be all yours 😁 touch-up paint will never work properly - you can look at this https://www.birchwoodcasey.com/gun-refinishing/metal/ I have a pen type instant touch-up but not for camera stuff. never matches will, but it covers up....for a while

falcon468 Posted December 4, 2021 Share #6 Posted December 4, 2021 I have the Leica half case and will not buy one of those Billingham cases, or similar, as they far too narrow. Rubbing the camera up and down is a culprit to the paint. All of my cases offer plenty of breathing room to prevent paint deterioration. chasdfg Posted December 4, 2021 Share #7 Posted December 4, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've seen skins on this website before. Might be able to cover paint loss https://www.lifeguard-design.com/products/leica-cameraskin
