Leica R6 hotshoe and flash indicator not working

So my R6 is perfectly functional in every way even after taking it spelunking and on numerous different treks but after leaving it in my backpack for awhile the hotshoe doesn't seem to want to trigger any of my flashes anymore. The x sync/coaxial port works just fine but not the hotshoe. 

As for the flash ready indicator in the viewfinder that never seem to have worked although the TTL exposure with my metz 54mz4 + SCA551 module seems to exposure each frame correctly. 

Any suggestions or anyone have a disassembly guide/service manual?

nice to know that R6 is in use.

This happened to my R6, some years back.

My 'cure' is as simple as cleaning the three contacts with toothpicks.

Then slide in/out the flash in the R6's shoe a couple of times.

Those contacts when not in use (not protected) have some 'durt' that prevent the flash to make contact.

 

Maybe cleaning yours first before dismounting.
