Leica X2 raw format not seen??

Hey guys. I’m new to the forum, super new to Leica and a novice in photography. It’s a relatively new hobby. I just purchased a LNIB X2, the reason I purchased is because I got it for a very good price. My question is: when I navigate through the settings to try to change the specs from JPEG to RAW. The only options I see are JPEG and DNG. The specifications of the camera online says it shoots in RAW format. Does Leica consider DNG as their RAW setting? Or am I missing something.

Welcome. DNG is the raw format. It is that in general.  the word rawmeans just that,the data straight out of the camera. There are many formats: .nef., crw, .rw2, etc. and .dng.

Welcome, Henry. Welcome to the Leica X forum. Although less well-supported nowadays, do take a peep at the picture threads, comprising pictures taken with various Leica X cameras. It will give you an idea of what can be done with an excellent X2 camera. Remember, the X2 shares the same lens as the X1, so don't discount pictures taken with that camera.
