palookajo Posted November 5, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased a Leica Q2 and I'm a little unsure about how the EVF works. I have Exposure Preview set to P-A-S-M. I am shooting in Manual. When I point the Q2 at the the subject, the EVF is "what you see is what you get". But, when I half press the shutter to focus, the back of the EVF brightens. I hope I am explaining this clearly. This throws me off mentally. Is there a way for the half press of the shutter to "maintain" the "what you see is what you get"? I have not experienced this with other mirrorless camera brands. jaapv Posted November 5, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 5, 2021 Welcome to the forum I'm sure that the Q2, like most if not all other mirrorless cameras, has an "exposure simulation" setting in the menu.

Thanks! 😀 Yes, I would guess so too, however I haven’t yet found it simply by cycling thru the menu option or by searching the online menu. I did order the hard copy of the owners manual in hope that it would be easier for me to find but it’s not arrived yet.
frame-it Posted November 6, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2021 but if it brightens doesn't that mean your exposure is wrong?
